My biggest breakthroughs came when I realised I could give MYSELF permission to enjoy food! Let me explain: the point isn’t to encourage binging on donuts and pizza. The point is to let go of the “diet mentality”, to allow myself to enjoy food without feeling guilt and shame! It’s just how it works, you stop following the rules, and you stop binging! The frequency of my binging has decreased dramatically. By letting go of the guilt and shame, I could make room for listening to my body and what I actually needs!
